Lachi Indian Restaurant, Penticton, British Columbia

I cannot express how grateful I am that my friends introduced me to Indian food last July. We went to Lachi Indian Restaurant for a friend’s birthday and I was beyond impressed and possibly addicted!

My birthday is in one week’s time but as with the past 4 – 5 years, my friends (with whom I also work) head out of province for work and more times than not, miss my birthday.

Instead of pouting (like normal) about them being gone, I decided to celebrate the day I was due to be born instead! So last night we ventured out for a little celebration.

I invited about 14 or 15 people and all-in-all, by the end of the night I had spent time with 10 of them! Such a great turn out really made me feel loved and appreciated.

We started early, at 4:30 pm going for dinner at Lachi Indian Restaurant. Begin vegan, I can rely on a good portion of their menu to choose from.

I ordered the Vegetable Samosas for an appetizer and as always, it was perfect!

Dinner was Yellow Dal (3 out of 5 spice factor), Basmati Rice and Naan Bread. This restaurant NEVER disappoints!

I cannot emphasize that if you are ever in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, specifically in Penticton, British Columbia – you MUST go to Lachi Indian Restaurant on Main Street.

After dinner we went for some bingo … yup, the ol’ fashion dib-dab-dob bingo! It was a good time and I’ll definitely go again. It only cost $10 for 3 hours of bingo and that, my friends, is budget-friendly!

After bingo (no one in our group of 9 won), 4 of us headed to a pub – The Best Damn Sports Bar – for a couple of drinks. Turns out there was a UFC fight (I’m not a huge fan) so the pub was pretty busy but not packed.

We only stayed for about an hour and a half because we just weren’t feeling the vibe and, well, let’s be honest … we’re not 20 years old any more! Having a great night out and begin home and in bed before midnight is very welcome!

I had left over Lachi that I planned on having for breakfast today, but I ate it last night before bed because having had dinner at 4:30 pm made for a much-needed “midnight” snack!

Today I am heading to Cheers the Church for my second time. I went the first time 2 weeks ago and it was good. I’m not a churchy person, but I am looking to expand my group of friends and meeting new people. I was welcomed with open arms last time and I have met a couple more people over the past couple of days that attend Cheers, so it will be nice to see them again.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday and that you get to have some beautiful sunshine in your life today.
